Structural Wall Defects

The usual factors which lead to wall structural defects are ground or wall movement increased structural pressure or rusting of wall ties in the masonry. Weathering and damp penetration can also cause structural fabric deterioration. These defects may leave your property with structural instability and cause visual damage such as cracking and bulging to the walls.

Concrete Repairs

Concrete structures are very durable but even the strongest concrete tend to deteriorate through time. ebm can offer a quick and cost-effective solution to repair structural damage, such as damaged window cills, lintels, canopies and concrete steps.

Our specialists use innovative cement products that can fully set within an hour, allowing us to decrease the duration of the concrete repair process. An experienced surveyor will visit your property and specify the most appropriate solution to fix your structural problem. Get in touch with your local branch for advice or a property survey.

Type E Installation

The Type E is a preformed DPC cavitray which is inserted into an existing cavity wall. The Type E requires only one course of bricks to be disturbed, with just a few bricks removed at any time. The self-contained Type E cavitrays are the length of two bricks, and clip together, so long runs are easily and quickly created. Preformed angles cater for corners and piers. Each unit has stand-alone discharge via a weep. Suitable for all popular cavity widths because the cavity upstand of the Type E is hinged and adjusts to always suit the ‘as-found’ cavity width.

External Timber Repairs

Any unprotected external timbers will eventually be affected by rot and start losing their aesthetical and structural qualities. To prevent timber decay, you should inspect and maintain your external timbers with an appropriate paint, varnish or other water repellent regularly. If your property is already affected by rot damage, then you might require some specialist assistance.

Structural Timber Resin Repairs

Our structural resin repair is used to repair and strengthen structural timber within a building. The Resin is used in conjunction with reinforcement bars to retain as much of the existing structure and deal with the affected area. Resin has strong bonding qualities and is able to be shaped to match the existing detail of the structure. It is non-porous and is resistant to damp.

Structural Repair Survey

Our qualified rot surveyor will investigate the affected area and measure the scale of the problem. We only supply experienced surveyors who are highly trained in all types of rot and damp problems that could affect your property. This means that our surveyor will be able to complete the survey and give the appropriate remedial recommendations no matter what problem is identified.

Cavity Wall Tie Replacement

Firstly, to establish the extent of the wall tie repairs and replacements required, our fully trained and professional surveyor will arrange the property inspection at a time that suits you. To locate the position of existing cavity wall ties, we use a range of specialist equipment such as metal detectors to plot the different locations of the wall ties and endoscopes to inspect the condition of cavity walls ties. The existing ties are isolated and extracted to prevent further corrosion with the new ties inserted in their place.

I had EBM carry out a lintel replacement and damp proofing. They were brilliant from start to finish. They were clear in their quotation, kept me informed on a start date, turned up on time and got the job done on schedule and took every care in keeping my house clean. I'd highly recommend EBM

Work is near completion. Chris and the guys have been brilliant - very considerate and hard-working. The job has taken a while due to the consistent rain we have had the last couple of months but Chris has kept in constant communication to update me on when work can continue. Highly recommend.
